2008 Bond Projects
Thanks to the community, the passage of the 2008 Bond will provide funds for building repairs and infrastructure upgrades.
History
Mead Elementary shares in a rich history dating back to 1902 when it was a small independent school district made up of the surrounding farm families. The building, although torn down and rebuilt in 1977, still houses the original gymnasium. With the development of many small neighborhoods around Mead, the town itself still maintains the small town intimate setting, and the school serves as a community hub for family events and activities.
School Focus
Striving to provide the best standards-based instruction for children in the areas of reading, writing, math, science, social studies, art, music, physical education, and technology, Mead maintains high academic standards for students.
Professional Learning Community (PLC) days have provided time for teaching staff to develop a matrix of essential learning outcomes in all the standards of mathematics. Teachers have also created common grade level assessments to measure student proficiency of the essential learning outcomes.
