History
Located in Firestone, Imagine Charter School at Firestone will open their doors to students in the fall of 2008. As a Free Public School of Choice, there is no cost for Half-day Kindergarten through 8th grade. Pre-School, Pre-Kindergarten and Full Day Kindergarten are fee based classes. The school is housed in a brand new building on Twilight Avenue, to the north of Firestone Boulevard.
School Focus
Imagine Charter School at Firestone is an academically rigorous school with a strong emphasis on nurturing the moral character of all students. The school hires highly qualified, caring teachers who attend to each individual child and partner with parents to support significant and sustained growth for each child. The school uses the Core Knowledge curriculum in Pre-K through 8th grade. During the first three years, the school will be going through a validation process with the national foundation to become an official Core Knowledge school.
By the time students complete the educational program at Imagine Charter School at Firestone, they should embody the following qualities:

Imagine Charter School at Firestone prides itself on the rich and rigorous curriculum and the attention to each individual student. We are housed in a brand new facility, flooded with natural light, which provides a safe and stimulating environment for learning. The culture is built on an ethic of excellence, in that we believe in the ability of all students to excel academically, behaviorally, and socially. There is a thoughtful educational plan that will support excelling students and provide extra help for those who need it. An emphasis on environmental science, the nearby St. Vrain State Park, and the outdoor classroom will all add to the science program.
Partnering with parents is a high priority at Imagine Charter School at Firestone. Families volunteer 20 hours per year to communicate to their child and other students that education is important. Students see their parents take time from their busy schedules to work with the school to promote excellence. Parents are also significant decision makers, helping to guide the growth of the school.
Before/After School Activities
A fee-based before (6:30 8:15 a.m.) and after (3:15 6:00 p.m.) school child care program will be available.
Additional after school activities will be provided based on interest.
