2008 Bond Projects

Thanks to the community, the passage of the 2008 Bond will provide funds for building repairs and infrastructure upgrades.

History

Opened in 2001, Fall River is located in the recently developed east side of Longmont. The school is safely nestled in a neighborhood setting on a major bike trail. Most of the students who attend Fall River either walk or ride their bikes to school. Fall River is the proud home of the 2004 Math Teacher of the Year.

School Focus

Fall River’s continuous goal is to see students progress academically, psychologically and socially. Specifically, Fall River’s school focus is to improve math, reading, and writing scores. To meet these goals:

  • A Quality Assurance Team, comprised of both staff and parents, meets to review data to maintain a high level of accountability over the program for learning.
  • A Social-Emotional Council monitors support for social and psychological development.
  • Professional Study Teams are in place including a teacher book club.
  • Literacy and numeracy councils offer support and collaboration for staff members.

Achieving Academic Success

Fall River offers a wide variety of experiences for students that include:

  • Small group instruction for students struggling with reading, writing, and math.
  • Individualized learning opportunities for students.
  • Teachers trained in the area of differentiation to address the academic needs of every student.
  • Kindergarten flooding that involves the principal and literacy teachers going into kindergarten classes daily to assist with reading.
  • Strong literacy support for teachers at all grade levels.

What Makes Fall River Unique
