Frederick High School #8 - Planning and Development

Overview

In the fall of 2012, the SVVSD plans to open the New Frederick High School in the community of Frederick. This school, currently referred to as Frederick High School #8, will be located within the Miners Village subdivision, on the corner of Tipple Parkway and Colorado Blvd. The 190,000 sq. ft. facility will open with classroom space for 1,000 students with a core capacity of 1,800 students.

School boundaries and current staffing are planned to remain the same for the upcoming school year.

Design and Construction

The school has been designed accommodate future expansion and in accordance with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) silver standards. The site encompasses 62 acres and will include a combination football/soccer/track area, lighted football field with artificial turf, 4 ball fields, practice fields, 6 tennis courts and an irrigation pond. The auditorium will provide seating for 750 and the gym 1,750 seats.
