School Closings

On occasion, it becomes necessary to shutdown the operation of schools within the District. The most common reason for school closure is inclement weather.

As soon as a decision to close the District's schools has been made by the Superintendent of Schools, the information is immediately made available to the general public.

A number of different mediums are utilized to relay school closure information. The District's website, www.stvrain.k12.co.us is immediately updated with information on the closure. In addition, the District's closure of schools is posted on the District newsline [ (303) 682 - 7387 ] and is also reported to the television and radio stations listed below. The respective television and radio stations then convey the information regarding the closure to the public according to their individual timelines and means of communicating.

If for any reason the school calendar is altered as a result of school closures, the Board of Education may schedule make-up days on Saturdays, during vacations, or at the end of the school calendar year.
