The Long Range Facility is made up of volunteers, essentially one representative from each middle school attendance area, a Board representative, and a principal representative from an elementary school and a secondary school:

The purpose of the committee is to provide on-going review of the facility planning function of the St. Vrain Valley School District, to advise the District on matters pertaining to facility planning, and to gather ideas to facilitate planning within the district. These planning functions include the analysis and need for new school facilities and location, the timing of facility construction, enrollment projections, attendance boundary changes, the impact of new development, and the District Comprehensive Facility Plan.

The Long Range Facilities Planning Commitee currently has openings that are available to the public (one opening for each of the following areas: Altona Middle School, Lyons Middle/Senior High School, and Sunset Middle School and one at large opening). Interested community members are invited to apply to become a member.
